After years of
searching for
more space,
Keslow Camera
expands its
presence on the
Cinespace campus

Keslow Camera will celebrate its recent expansion with an open house on Saturday July 14 from 7-10 p.m.

Boasting floor-to-ceiling windows in a vintage brick building at 16th and Rockwell St., the company’s new second-floor addition is nestled in the heart of Chicago’s booming film and television industry.

The main stages of Cinespace are located right across Rockwell to the east. The production offices of several shows filming on the lot are right next door to the west.

The location underscores a commitment to Windy City film production that Keslow has lived up to since becoming the first vendor to open on the Cinespace campus six years ago.

Saturday’s event will offer guests an opportunity to check out the camera and accessory supplier’s new space while networking with drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

“We’ve been wanting to expand for a few years, but have been waiting for the right space,” says Keslow General Manager Colette Gabriel. “It was important for us to stay at Cinespace in the hub of the Chicago filmmaking community.”

A graduate of Columbia College, Gabriel not only oversees day-to-day professional operations for Keslow, but she also “give(s) tours of Keslow Camera to students all the time.”

As a film pro who spent five years in L.A. before returning to Chicago, she is delighted that the city’s filmmaking renaissance now offers a viable opportunity for people seeking careers in the industry.

“We’re building a sustainable community with businesses and individuals representing all aspects of filmmaking here,” she explains. “Chicago has the whole package, and everyone from independent filmmakers to the top studios like Fox, NBC, and Amazon are drawn by that.”
