Chicago-produced feature film You’re OUT!, directed by former Reel Chicago writer Katharin Mraz, has hit a home run with both a sales agent and distribution. Adler & Associates has taken on international sales for the film, beginning with shopping it at Cannes.
For domestic distribution, the film, which WGN’s Steve Dahl calls, “A cross between The Hangover and National Lampoon’s Vacation – with a dog hero.” has signed with Gravitas Ventures.
You’re OUT! is the story of Rod Browning, a failed minor league player desperate to find his son, Joe Browning, placement on a Division One college baseball team. Rod drags him on a cross-country road trip to get scouted at America’s Favorite College Baseball Stadium with Joe’s best friend Tyler, and Tyler’s father Alex. Throughout this, his wife counts the days before Rod screws things up beyond repair.
Shot during the pandemic in both Champaign county and the Chicagoland area, the feature film features award-winning actor couple Shannon Brown (Halloweed, For Hannah) and Suzette Brown (Finding Grace, For Hannah).
They are joined by father/son duo Edward Kaihatsu and Kenji Kaihatsu, alongside some of Chicago’s most beloved talent, including Kyle Patrick, Bill B. Russell, Kandice Robins, and Bobbie Jenkins as Matterhorn (the stray dog they find along the way). Watch the trailer for this comedy of errors below:
