Katharin Mraz, a Chicago-based film director, commercial producer, actress and model, has announced the launch of a new venture: Ladie K, LLC.
The new entertainment company intends to create diversity-focused, women-empowered feature films and episodic content for festival release and streaming platforms.
Mraz who wrapped her first feature You’re OUT! last summer has teamed up with Evanston-based Paper Star Entertainment. The team is in pre-production on their second feature film, Schizolove, which was written by Mraz nearly 18 years ago.
Mraz will produce and direct the thriller/ romance, which touches on the delicate topics of mental health and relationships, and stars Chicago actors Bobby Wilhemson, Kandice Robins, and Mraz. It is slated to begin filming in Chicago in July 2022 under the new company moniker.
Schizolove welcomes the return of Gianna Aquilina, the Director of Photography on Mraz’s, You’re OUT!.
You’re OUT!, written by Midwest native, Sandy De Lisle, is a road trip comedy, that brings together elements of family values, a dog rescue, and America’s favorite pastime. The film wrapped last August and is set for completion this summer.
Mind Exchange Music will also return to work with Mraz on Schizolove. Owner’s Donny Walker and Kelly Askam will lead location sound, post audio, and music composition for the feature.

In addition, Ladie K, LLC has taken on the SAG New Media project titled Famous Canadian Actors. Mraz will serve as the Producer, Assistant Director, Editor, and lead actress along with some of Chicago’s most well-known actors including Walt Sloan, Brendan Sullivan, Harold Dennis, and Keith Kelly.
Director, co-writer/ co-creator Jason Dummeldinger will team with co-writer/ co-creator Jonathan Michael Scott and Director of Photography Chris Rejano.
