Kartemquin’s pitches doc to international forum

KARTEMQUIN’S DOCUMENTARY-IN-PROGRESS about stem cell research was one of only two American docs out of 41 international films invited to pitch at the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam at the Forum in the Netherlands.

Selected filmmaking teams have 15 minutes to pitch their work-in-progress to commissioning editors from around the globe.

Kartemquin executive producer Gordon Quinn, producer/director Maria Finitzo and associate producer Justine Nagan had pitched the 90-minute “Terra Incognita: Exploring the World of Stem Cell Research.”

ROBERT NEUSTADT was series producers on all 19 episodes of “Dr. Know,” which premieres Dec. 27 at 7 p.m. on the Discovery Health Channel. Neustadt, who also directed four episodes.

“Dr. Know” takes a humorous look at modern medical myths and old wives tales. It was shot entirely on location in Washington, D. C. Dr. Paul Trotman of New Zealand is the host. Mp>”Dr. Know” airs through March on Tuesdays, 7-8 p.m. Neustadt was formerly with the now-defunct Orbis Broadcast Group that specialized in health-related TV shows.
