In just 8 months, distributor Olive Films cites huge growth in acquisitions, space, new services

Last December, art film cinema distributor Olive Films relocated from Richland, Washington to St. Charles bringing more than a few extra warehouses to Chicago’s independent film scene.

Olive Films has enjoyed tremendous growth in a short period of time, said president Farhad Arshad.

In just over a month after its move to the Chicago area, Olive outgrew its new 2,000-square-foot facility and is expanding to 6,000-sq. ft. by merging with two adjoining warehouses.

In eight months, domestic and international films, features and documentaries, have jumped from 3,000 to 6,500 films, and the staff is up to eight.

Olive also acquires the rights to original films for DVD distribution under its own imprint.

Within the next few months Olive will debut eStudio O, a state-of-the-art postproduction facility. As part of Olive Films’ existing facility, it will service film, video, audio, and offer high-end DVD authoring, PAL, web design and development.
