July 22 IFPallooza at Martyrs kicks off fundraiser

IFP/Chicago will host IFPallooza, an all-ages music event featuring eight bands July 22 at Martyrs’ Restaurant and Pub, to kick off its first-ever fund-raising gala in September.

Proceeds from the gala will help expand IFP programming, which helps support local indie filmmakers.

“IFPallooza is going to be a rockin’ good time for the whole family, as we showcase some of Chicago’s talented bands, while supporting Chicago’s Indie film community,” said board president Carrie Holt de Lama.

Bands and artists scheduled to perform are Frank Orrall, lead singer from Poi Dog Pondering, Ladies & Gentlemen, Hot Damn Safari, Raised on Zenith, Sugarcreek Road, The Blisters, Lucky Jackson Band, Susan Tunney, Seven Harkey & the Dogwoods and Chicago Blues Experience?with more bands to come.

IFP’s First Annual Film Gala will be held Sept. 28 at Salvage One.

Martyrs is at 3855 Lincoln Ave. IFPallooza starts at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 for IFP members, and $20 at the door. Cash bar, but bar snacks will be served.
