Reel 360 Zoom interview with writer/director Mirrah Foulkes and lead actor Damon Herriman in the dark comedy/drama, ‘Judy & Punch

Remember the old puppet show Punch and Judy?

Australian first-time writer and director Mirrah Foulkes flips this tale on its head with ‘Judy & Punch,’ starring Mia Wasikowska and Damon Herriman and releasing in theaters June 5.

Told as an origin story from Judy’s perspective, Foulkes sets the film in a Monty Pythonian scenario complete with “stonings” and all the original context of this rather dark puppet show and set in a “seaside nowhere near the sea.”  It’s a female-centric film revising a folklore that will leave your mouth agape as you are aghast at the laughter that ensues.
