Joey Power returns to the director’s chair with Love Language, a romantic drama set to film in Chicago from October 21 to November 27 with production offices at Cinespace Studios.

Colin Jost (Saturday Night Live) is set to produce along with Jeff Grosvenor, Bert Hamelinck, Allison Hironaka, Ari Lubet. Michael Sagol is Executive Producer.

The cast includes Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass), Isabel May (1883), Anthony Ramos (In the Heights), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Billie Lourd (Booksmart), Marchánt Davis (The Day Shall Come).

Writer/Director Joey Power is known for exploring complex emotions and relationships in his previous works. His last film, After Everything (2018) starring Jeremy Allen White and Maika Monroe, followed the story of a young man diagnosed with cancer, blending humor and heartbreak. With Love Language, Power continues to weave intimate, character-driven narratives, this time through the lens of romantic entanglements and the consequences of suppressed emotions.

The film tells the story of Lou, a social media writer tired of creating catchy taglines for a potato chip company. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she helps her best friend write wedding vows, launching a side gig as a vow writer. However, Lou’s world gets more complicated when her newest client, Olivia, turns out to be engaged to Warren, Lou’s college crush and best friend. Now, as she helps the couple prepare for their big day, Lou finds herself grappling with resurfaced feelings for Warren.

The film promises to delve into themes of unspoken love, complicated emotions, and the messy nature of relationships.

Filming entirely in Chicago, Love Language is set to take advantage of the city’s diverse locations to enhance the film’s emotional depth.

As the film progresses, audiences can expect a blend of humor, heartache, and the complexity of love triangles, all against the backdrop of Chicago’s bustling urban setting. With its unique premise and Power’s knack for character development, Love Language is expected to be a compelling and relatable exploration of modern relationships.
