Get ready to rewrite the record books—softball’s big league moment is finally here. Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) just debuted its boldest, most dynamic campaign yet with “This is Legendary,” a high-octane hype piece that cements the league’s arrival as a game-changer in professional sports.
Narrated by none other than softball icon Jessica Mendoza, the cinematic campaign dropped today on ESPN, spotlighting the league’s fierce energy, diverse talent, and groundbreaking spirit.
Created in partnership with Chicago-based Dame Creative and directed by Quinn Murphy of DK Films, the campaign fuses mixed media, kinetic editing, and a multi-camera setup to capture the raw intensity of the sport like never before. The 60-second anthem stars eight AUSL athletes—two from each of the four inaugural teams (the Bandits, Blaze, Talons, and Volts)—alongside legends Natasha Watley and Cat Osterman, who also serve as league advisors.
“The next legendary big league is here. Built by legends of the game to be unlike any other,” Mendoza declares in the narration. “Unlimited potential. Unlimited impact. Where we’re all one team—even when we’re rivals.”
The campaign doesn’t just celebrate softball—it plants a flag for the future of women’s pro sports. With ESPN signed on to carry 33 games across its platforms in 2025 and a month-long Preseason Tour presented by the U.S. Air Force already underway, AUSL is putting serious muscle behind its June 7 Opening Day. Watch below:
“This is the largest marketing campaign in U.S. pro softball history,” said Allie Kleva, Chief Growth Officer at Athletes Unlimited. “It honors the past and energizes the future, declaring that softball’s time is now.”
The season kicks off June 7 and runs through July 28, culminating in a best-of-three championship series. And because no one does things quite like Athletes Unlimited, 60 players will then face off in a 24-game individual scoring tournament—the AUSL All-Star Cup—in August.
Tickets are on sale now, and with the buzz building fast, you’d be wise to snag yours before they’re gone.
So grab your gear, mark your calendars, and get ready to witness something legendary. This isn’t just softball—it’s the future of the game, and everyone’s invited. Check schedules, rosters, and more at theAUSL.com.
