One Chicago former showrunner, Derek Haas, has a green light from Prime Video on Countdown, a thriller drama series starring Supernatural alum Jensen Ackles. This will be the first series of an exclusive overall deal that Haas signed with Amazon MGM Studios following his departure from Wolf Entertainment.
Haas who is the co-creator of Chicago Fire left the show last season. He was with Dick Wolf Entertainment since 2011 when the One Chicago dramas were born with Chicago Fire. After the success of the series, Haas developed the spin-off Chicago P.D. in 2014 with Michael Brandt who was also co-creator of Chicago Fire. Chicago Med was the second spin-off from Chicago Fire that the duo developed and began airing in 2015.

Jensen Ackles will star in the series as LAPD officer Mark Meachum. A suspicious murder in broad daylight leads to his recruitment into a secret task force of undercover agents from various branches of law enforcement. As the truth of a more sinister plot emerges, the team must set aside their conflicting personal agendas to unite and save the city.

Haas created the 13-episode series and serves as executive producer and showrunner. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
Throughout his ten-year collaboration with Dick Wolf and Wolf Entertainment, Haas co-created and executive produced five series: Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Chicago Med, FBI, and FBI: International.
