Jamie Foxx is clearly recovering well and was out enjoying himself in his first public appearance on Sunday. He was spotted enjoying a boat ride on the Chicago River with friends and family.

This marked his first outing since being hospitalized with a “medical complication” in April, as revealed by his daughter, Corrine Foxx.

His family has been at his side throughout his illness and regularly visit him as he recovers at the Shirley Ryan Rehabilitation Hospital in Chicago.

Excitement surrounded Foxx’s return as he took to Twitter to confirm that he was relishing his time on the boat and living his best life. Foxx seemed to be celebrating the day with the flavored whiskey brand Brown Sugar Bourbon, adding, “Stay blessed!”

On Sunday, TMZ published footage of the Oscar winner, 55, waving while aboard a boat traveling along the Chicago River.

According to a source close to the Oscar-winning actor, he is doing exceptionally well. Currently, Foxx is taking it easy and refraining from having visitors. However, reports indicate that his recovery is on track, and his spirits are high.

Details regarding Foxx’s health have been scarce since his hospitalization, but Corrine Foxx shared in May that her father had been discharged from the hospital and was steadily recuperating. Friends of Foxx, including Kevin Hart and Martin Lawrence, have offered updates when possible, reassuring fans of his improving condition.

Adding to the positive news, TMZ captured Foxx at a driving range, honing his golf swing. The footage serves as further evidence of his continued progress and growing strength during the recovery process.
