Ironheart plays pivotal role in Black Panther plot leak

Ironheart

Warning: this article MAY contain actual spoilers for the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever!

Known spoiler extraordinaire, Daniel Richtman recently had a post of his from his Patreon shared on Reddit detailing several plot points of the highly anticipated, and secretive, MCU film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The post was more than likely pulled from his Discord server since it is not directly on his Patreon at this time. Richtman has been accurate in the past, which is why this information is so juicy.

These are the points listed in the short and sweet Reddit post.

Who is Riri Williams a.k.a Ironheart?

Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) is introduced as a brilliant teenage inventor who, in the comics, builds her own version of the Iron Man suit in an MIT dorm. According to the spoiler post, Williams is the catalyst for a war between the MCU’s version of Atlantis and Wakanda.

The teen genius apparently creates a device to search for Vibranium on the ocean floor which angers Namor aka The Sub-Mariner, their ruler. He sets out to kill Riri.

Her Ironheart suit is originally made from automobile parts, however, the spoiler also claims that once she finds her way to Wakanda, she gets her suit made out of Vibranium.

As we know, Ironheart is an upcoming Disney+ series starring Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos, Manny Montana, and Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story). Wakanda Forever seems to be introducing the character and providing an explanation of how she obtained her Vibranium suit.

This is pure speculation on our part – last month we reported on Marvel shooting scenes for Ironheart with a drone. While it is possible it was for the upcoming Disney+ series, it is also possible that the plates being filmed were for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

While Marvel sometimes leaves its Atlanta digs, it is mostly for the studio to film plates. What also lends credence to this is that Ryan Coogler is writing and directing Black Panther and is Executive Producer on Ironheart. His Proximity Media production company is involved in both productions.

Lake Bell

Even though she is nowhere on the IMDb, nor is Wakanda Forever listed on her IMDb, according to the Reddit post allegedly quoting Richtman, Bell is playing a scientist who is a brand new character, who, along with her team, is searching for Vibranium in the ocean thanks to the device by Riri Williams mentioned above.

King Namor McKenzie, a.k.a. the Sub-Mariner

Once again, there is no mention of this character on Wakanda Forever’s IMDb, but the spoiler asserts that the character of Namor (allegedly Tenoch Huerta) is awakened by the device used to search for Vibranium and slaughters Bell’s character and her entire team.

He seems to be desperate to kill Riri as well and tracks her to Wakanda. He requests aid from the Wakandans and they refuse and choose to protect Riri and give her an Ironheart suit made of Vibranium. In the comics, Namor is the current ruler of Atlantis who is the mutant-hybrid son of a human father and an Atlantean princess.

What Happened to T’Challa?

As we are painfully well aware, Chadwick Boseman passed away in 2020 and there’s no way he could have been replaced by another actor. In Wakanda Forever, T’Challa also passes away, but from an undisclosed illness, at least in the spoiler post.

Wakanda and Atlantis go to war

As mentioned previously, Namor is so angered by Wakanda protecting Riri that Atlantis goes to war against the country. At some point Ramonda (Angela Bassett), the Queen Mother of Wakanda, mother of T’Challa and Shuri (Letitia Wright) is killed. Parts of Wakanda become flooded.

Shuri becomes Black Panther

Ironheart

Desperate for help, Shuri makes herself an artificial Heart-Shaped Herb to gain Black Panther powers and find her way to the ancestral plane. Her intention was to talk to T’Challa, but she finds Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) instead. Once again, Michael B. Jordan is nowhere to be found on the Wakanda Forever IMDb, which means if these spoilers are correct, it was an amazing secret that was managed to be kept until now. Killmonger helps Shuri become Black Panther and creates her own Black Panther suit.

The War Ends

After her spiritual walkabout and creation of her Black Panther suit, Shuri returns to the battle and defeats Namor, but does not kill him. M’Baku (Winston Duke) is King while Shuri remains Black Panther if this Wakanda Forever plot leak is accurate.

T’Challa has a child

According to the spoiler post, at the end of the film, Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) tells Shuri that she shares a son with T’Challa and that the new Black Panther is an Auntie.

Post Credit Scene

Ironheart

Perhaps the most exciting thing to learn from this entire spoiler post is what transpires in the post-credit scene. The scene shows Dr. Doom and it implies that he is the one who sent Lake Bell and her team to search the ocean floor. In a really weird twist, Howard Stern, of all people, recently leaked accidentally that he was “Doing Dr. Doom” and that he asked Robert Downey Jr. for tips.

Knowing that the infamous Illuminati scene from Dr. Strange and the Multi-verse of Madness was created by shooting each actor, with mo-cap suits, individually against a green screen, it is possible they shot Stern in New York at a studio to add him later.

In the comics, Dr. Victor von Doom, Ph.D., aka Doctor Doom, is a Latverian politician who serves as the Monarch and Supreme Leader for the Kingdom of Latveria. He was scarred from an accident and wears an iron mask and armor to hide his true face. He is considered one of the most brilliant minds and scientists on the planet Earth. In the comics, he manipulated Namor into battling against the Fantastic Four with him.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to hit theaters on November 11, 2022. Sources tell Reel Chicago that Ironheart will return in the Fall for a few weeks. Whether any cast members join remains to be seen.
