Industry thoughts on getting back to work safely

IPA

A message from the Illinois Production Alliance.

As a film industry professional, you no doubt have seen, read or been sent a wide array of proposed production safety guidelines. That is one of several issues that studio stakeholders and the workforce are grappling with as they discuss readiness to restart production.

It is anticipated that the Industry-Wide Labor-Management Safety Committee will release a “white paper” later this week that “will lay a foundation for uniform terms and safety protocols.”  We will send updates as they become available.

Here in Illinois while continuing to deal with the daily and long-term public health issues of the pandemic, Governor Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot have unveiled their respective plans for re-opening the state and city.  The 5-phased Restore Illinois and Protecting Chicago public health plans are another indication of hope as we all prepare for the “new normal”.

The Illinois Production Alliance continues to work with officials at the Illinois and Chicago Film offices and other pertinent government agencies to assist our community in the communication of current and helpful relief information. We are providing input to both offices on the unique challenges and proposed solutions (in compliance with the state and city re-opening plans) for the restart of production.
