Independent Production Roundup

RICHARD PARO of Mudgeonsoul Productions starts shooting his feature, now called “Untitled Fringe Film,” this October.

The dark romantic comedy tells four interwoven stories about fringe artists, including a theater troupe adapting a book by a writer who was assassinated by a right wing extremist.

Paro is acting in the film, along with Chris Weiher and Katie Rolnick, and regular collaborator Cyra K. Pollizi of Full Voice Productions.

Paro directed the 2003 feature “An Obvious Moment of Happiness.” He shot and produced Wisconsin filmmaker Noah Riemer’s “Most Wonderful People,” which Film Threat picked as one of the top ten shorts of 2004.
