Ill Dept of Heath reminds state Tis the Sneezin’

Chicago-based independent agency TimeZoneOne and its partner agency Schafer Condon Carter recently launched Tis The Sneezin’, a campaign that playfully reminds residents to vaccinate against the fall and winter triple threat: the flu, COVID, and RSV. It’s the fifth PSA campaign the agencies have created for the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) since 2021.

Highlighting a common way respiratory viruses spread, the Tis The Sneezin’ campaign showcases everyday moments interrupted by a common symptom of the flu, COVID, and RSV, along with a catchy call to action to encourage vaccinations.

View the four 15-second spots below:

Rideshare: Don’t pick up illnesses this winter. Vaccines can keep you healthy through the holiday sneezin’.

Elevator: Ding! Sneezin’ season is coming up. Avoid coming down with symptoms by getting up to date on all vaccines.

Detention: Teach the flu, COVID, and RSV a lesson on who’s boss. Get vaccinated and avoid the holiday sneezin’.

Selfie: Sickness always has the worst timing. Get protected from the holiday sneezin’ by getting vaccinated.

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with the Illinois Department of Public Health on this important initiative to raise awareness and help our fellow Illinoisans to protect themselves,” said Tim Condon, co-founder and CEO of SCC. “We’ve had an incredible season celebrating the work our partners trust us to produce, and we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the greater good in our city and state.”

The campaign will reach Illinoisans in every corner of the state in both English and Spanish through a variety of traditional and online media channels, including cable, broadcast, and connected TV; streaming audio and radio; billboards and bus shelters; digital display and video; print and social media.

“IDPH is continuing to work closely with local, state, and federal partners to monitor the three respiratory viruses that caused last fall and winter’s tripledemic,” said IDPH Director Dr. Sameer Vohra. “We encourage all Illinois residents to do the same to prevent illness and protect yourself and your loved ones. The tools include washing your hands, improving ventilation inside your homes, staying home if sick, and getting immunized with the vaccines available to you. Why? Because… Tis the Sneezin’.”

Recently, TZO was honored with 13 awards from the Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC) and Public Relations Society of America’s Chicago Chapter (PRSA Chicago) for campaigns for the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois Office of Tourism, another Illinois state agency.

TZO and SCC’s previous campaign for IDPH, “On The Fence,” took home four PCC Gold Trumpets and one Silver Trumpet at PCC’s ceremony and three PRSA Skyline Awards and one Award of Excellence. In total, the campaign has racked up 13 awards and 14 national recognitions, including an Emmy, Addy, and the Best Digital Marketing/Advertising Campaign in North America from PRovoke Media.
