IFP names Ryan Jewell new executive director

IFP HAS NAMED RYAN JEWELL, fresh from two years as Cinema/Chicago’s managing director, as its new executive director, a position that’s been vacant for four months.

At Cinema/Chicago, the presenting organization of the Chicago International Film Festival, Jewell handled all aspects its business. Earlier he’d been with Magnolia Pictures/Landmark Theatres for five years and was responsible for the operations of three different theatres.

GOLDEN GLOBES’ WINNER “SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE” was first recognized by CIFF founder Michael Kutza last October when he showcased at the festival ? a month before its national release. Writer/director Danny Boyle came to the festival to introduce his future award-winner.
