IFA + Second City SeriesFest Pitch-A-Thon Roadshow: Chicago Oct 25

The Independent Film Alliance Chicago, SeriesFest and The Second City Film School are excited for the return of the SeriesFest Pitch-A-Thon Roadshow: Chicago on October 25.

This event gives comedic independent creators the opportunity to participate in an exclusive live pitch session with top television, new media and digital executives! The goal for creators is the unique opportunity to advance their unproduced episodic projects. The iconic Second City Film School joins as the third partner in this impressive trifecta with the pitch-a-thon taking place at The Second City Theater.

Writers of the general public are encouraged to submit their unproduced comedic episodic projects. 5 selected writers will move on to pitch to a live panel of industry experts. Once selected, Working Artist Group will provide writers with virtual coaching prior to the event as well as an in-person workshop on the day of the event. All writers and a general audience will get to watch the pitches and feedback live, providing an enlightening and educational opportunity for everyone. (Live event and tickets to follow.)

Applicants can submit and find more details HERE.

The winning pitch will receive full access to SeriesFest Season 10, the annual international television festival taking place May 1 – 5, 2024 in Denver, Colorado and a cash prize.

“In a city that’s home to The Second City, where so many award-winning creatives get their start, the amount of talent that comes out of Chicago can’t be overlooked. As an organization that serves filmmakers in Chicago, we believe in the creatives here and the stories they tell. This partnership and program helps to expand the reach of these storytellers and we are proud of the platform that our partnership with SeriesFest and The Second City Film School gives them,” IFA Chicago’s Natalia Salazar, Manager, Partnerships & Programming shared.

Second City Film School, IFA, and SeriesFest are back together for another amazing Pitch-A-Thon Event this year. It’s a tough time to be a writer and a creator but that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped having ideas. SeriesFest has long been an advocate for independent creators, and the Pitch-A-Thon has no AMPTP affiliation. This event is about giving writers and filmmakers an opportunity to experience high-level pitching and get valuable feedback for their ideas, all while having a great time. Which is something we all pretty desperately need,” said Patrick Wimp, Program Director for The Second City Film School.

“We are thrilled to bring the Pitch-A-Thong Roadshow back to Chicago for a second time! There is so much incredible talent in the market and we feel it’s important to provide opportunities to uplift emerging Chicago voices,” commented Randi Kleiner, CEO and Co-Founder, SeriesFest.

More information to be released soon as some final details are still being finalized. Live event and tickets to follow.
