Sole Productions is pleased to announce that their new comedy, Heavens to Betsy 2, will be having its Northside Chicago Premiere on Thursday, December 13 at the Landmark Theatre Renaissance Cinema in Highland Park, IL.
The film will be released on DVD as well as VOD services nationwide on February, 2019.
Heavens to Betsy 2 is the sequel to the very popular faith-based comedy, Heavens to Betsy, which stars Emmy Award winner, Jim O’Heir (who played “Jerry” on TV‘s Parks and Recreation) and newcomer, Karen Lesiewicz.
Both of the actors return in the title roles of “Pastor John” and “Betsy Simon.”

Award-winning filmmaker Robert Alaniz and his company, Sole Productions, have been making full-length feature films in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs since 2003.
His work has been featured on WCIU the “U”, Fox News, ABC Morning News with Linda Yu and Sylvia Perez, WGN Radio with Andrea Darlas, and WLS Radio with Jonathan Brandmeier.
The first Heavens to Betsy told the story of an aspiring children’s book author named Betsy Simon, who comes to a better understanding of God’s will after each and every one of her prayers, from past to present, are suddenly answered all at once, erasing her past and altering everything in her present.
Heavens to Betsy 2 picks up where the first one left off after Betsy’s book — a novel that reflects the events from the first film — becomes a bestseller. She must then defend her faith when she agrees to do an interview with a self-serving media personality at the risk of destroying her credibility and career.
“When I was first approached with the idea of writing a sequel, I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just a repeat of what happened in the first film,” says Writer/Director, Robert Alaniz, “but instead continue the story and address many of the things that may have been left unanswered in the first.”
Robert’s past films include Angels in Our Midst (2006) which is currently being distributed by Bridgestone Multimedia Group; D.I.N.K.s (Double Income No Kids) (2011); You Don’t Say! (2013); and Mind Over Mindy (2016).
All of the films earned several film festival awards including “Best Comedy”, “The Auteur award”, “Audience Favorite” and “Best of Fest.”
Mind Over Mindy stars Larry Thomas (best known for his role as the Soup Nazi on TV’s Seinfeld) and features the very funny, Jim O’Heir (in his first appearance in an Alaniz film).
Heavens to Betsy 2 is being distributed by Gateway Films / Vision Video.
