Havas Chicago announced today that Frank Dattalo has been appointed Chief Creative Officer, joining President Kat Ott and Chief Strategy Officer Chase Cornett to lead a reimagining of the agency’s creative direction. The trio will drive a new “high-low” approach, blending strategic brand-building expertise with culturally driven, feed-first work that breaks through.
Frank joins Havas from Cashmere Agency in Los Angeles, where he served as EVP and Executive Creative Director. During his time there, he spearheaded culturally resonant campaigns such as Kraft Heinz’s viral “MUSTAAAAAAAAAARD” and Budweiser’s “The B.I.G. Drop,” a tribute to Notorious B.I.G. celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.
Dattalo’s impressive résumé includes leadership roles at Apple, R/GA (overseeing Nike), Critical Mass LA, and Deutsch LA. He began his career in Chicago at Energy BBDO, developing iconic campaigns like Orbit Gum’s “Dirty Mouth” and 5 Gum’s “Stimulate Your Senses” — both of which have recently enjoyed a viral resurgence on TikTok. His creative work has been recognized at top global shows including Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Webby Awards, Effies, Clios, and the Shorty Awards.
“Coming back to Chicago is a full-circle moment — reuniting with the city that raised both me and my career,” said Dattalo. “It’s a privilege to contribute to the legacy of this vibrant creative community and to collaborate with Kat and Chase, two legends I deeply admire, as we position Havas Chicago as a globally elite creative force.”
Kat Ott, President of Havas Chicago, added, “Frank’s passion for building a culture where diverse, ambitious talent can take big swings aligns perfectly with our vision. Together, we’ll create undeniable work that fuels the feeds, drives fame, and impacts real change.”
Under this leadership team, Havas Chicago is embracing a bold new chapter — combining the strategic rigor of a big agency with the cultural fluency and agility of a boutique creative shop.
