Shorts HD to air indie “The Gun Equation”

Screenwriter Thomas DeSplinter’s indie short, “The Gun Equation,” that screened at the recent Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival, is slated to air within the next few months on Shorts HD, part of Shorts International Ltd

Director/editor Matt Weinstein in 2015 had submitted the film to the Cannes film festival, where it was included in the festival’s 2016 Short Film Catalog 

The Gun Equation,” produced by DeSplinter’s Chicago-based Annawan Films, is a 10-minute crime drama set in downtown Chicago about a young man (Tyler Pistorius)seeking retribution for his wife’s (played by Emily Ariel Rogers) affair. Colin Jackson co-stars as the philandering third part of a love triangle.

Produced on a micro-budget, Chicago actors and crew, led by Weinstein and DP AJ Young, filmed in the Loop over a day-and-a-half in June, 2014. Weinstein finished editing in the fall of 2014 and sound mix was completed in February, 2015.

DeSplinter and Weinstein produced, with Chris Ramirez as AD, Nicholas Guy Wilson helping out on assistant camera, Brandon Hausen as PA and music composed by Jessica Salzinksi.
