Governor proposes bold film incentives
to make the state a competitive player

If Gov. Blagojevich’s bold proposed film incentives become law during the current session of the state legislature, movie and spot producers will find Illinois offers the best bang for their production buck.

The deal: A mouth-watering 20% credit on total production spending in Illinois, rather than just on wages alone as it stands now.

The Illinois Production Alliance had been working with key members of the Dept. of Economic Development & Opportunity to urge passage of better incentives to match or better states recognizing the economic advantages of film dollars.
