(Chicago — 17 July 2018) Global Mixx Media Group announces that Emmy award-winning television and film producer Rushion McDonald and Grammy-nominated producer and international DJ The Twilite Tone will be among the speakers at this year’s celebration.

Former manager and executive producer of The Steve Harvey Show, McDonald will speak at the Film Forum on Saturday, August 18 directly after the VIP Screening of Misguided Behavior — a film he serves as executive producer.

Chicago native and music producer, The Twilite Tone will serve as the keynote speaker at the Music Forum on Sunday, August 19.

The conference will be held both days at SAE Institute Chicago.

 
Rushion McDonald is a corporate executive-turned-comedian, Two-time Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer, sitcom writer, comedian, host of Money Making Conversations radio show, Ambassador for Perfect Bake Scale, mentor, father, social media specialist and much more.

Rushion McDonald is recognized throughout the entertainment industry for his successes in producing top television shows and hit movies, in addition to being the architect in building the Steve Harvey global media brand.

McDonald’s list of production credits includes television’s Family Feud, The Jamie Foxx Show and Sister, Sister, Steve Harvey Talk Show, Evidence of Innocence and the films Think Like a Man and Think Like a Man Too.
 

The Twilite Tone is internationally renowned for his signature style of DJ’ing and raising the bar within the Hip Hop community. He worked early in his music career with NO I.D. and Chicago rapper Common, forming a group in the late 1980’s and later becoming his producer.

His unique style led him to produce his first album, Can I Borrow A Dollar and Can I Bust — both iconic hip hop albums.

Over the next three decades, The Twilite Tone became one of the industry’s most sought-after producers, working with Kanye West (Cruel Summer), Big Sean (Hall of Fame), John Legend (Love in the Future), Pusha T (My Name is My Name) along with the special anti-gun violence music compilation, “Put the Guns Down.”

His recent production credits include the Gorillaz latest album release.

This year the Global Mixx Music and Film Forum will continue the tradition of presenting informative panel discussions, workshops, showcases and the popular Speed Mentoring Sessions. The Film Forum is the first day of the two-conference that brings established professionals and aspiring filmmakers together to network and exchange information.

The Global Mixx Film Festival offers a day of showcasing eight short films from 11am-3pm by rising filmmakers.

Submissions for short films are currently underway until August 10. The winner of the short film festival will receive an award of $500 and other notable industry assistance.

Last year, $2,000 in scholarship assistance was awarded to students pursuing a career in the creative and media arts.
