Get set to laff at Comedy Shorts Festival

Chicago is a city teeming with comedy talent (you have to have a sense of humor to live here) and no where is it more explicit in films than the Chicago Comedy Shorts Festival.

The 13th annual Comedy Shorts again combine with the Chicago Comedy TV Pilot competition for a night of hilarity July 22 at the Cultural Center theatre.

The Chicago area’s only dedicated comedy film night is presented by founder Marion Sours’ Wits End Productions, co-sponsored by the Chicago Film Office.

This year the Comedy Pilots section attracted about 15 entries from area filmmakers, while Comedy Shorts came in strong with about 90 entries, Sours notes.

Three pilot finalists were selected by programming executives at ABC, CBS and Fox networks and talent agency reps.
