Yet another daytime soap opera star is finding his way to Chicago P.D. as General Hospital’s Michael Blake Kruse recently announced on his Instagram that he will be appearing on at least one episode of Chicago P.D.
Kruse, who graduated high school and went to college in Iowa was excited to be back in the Midwest and shared that sentiment in his caption on his three photo carousel on Instagram saying,
“It’s great to be working in the Midwest again with the incredible cast and crew of Chicago P.D. So much to love about this city”
While it is unclear what his role in P.D. will be, he has been playing Officer Rory Cabrera since March of 2022 on General Hospital. Since he is under contract with General Hospital, it’s likely his appearance will just be a guest spot, however who knows what the future holds.
Kruse has appeared in dozens of commercial and print campaigns for clients such as Nike, Amazon, Google, Apple, and Coca-Cola. Prior to landing his role on General Hospital, Kruse appeared as Billy Hanes in the 15th and final season of Criminal Minds, John in the Lifetime feature film Dead In The Water, Felix Pelgado in the 17th season of Grey’s Anatomy and Brandon on the SnapChat Stories series Everything’s Fine.
Both Anne Heche and Jesse Lee Soffer paved the way for daytime soap stars to join the P.D. cast. From 2018-2019 Heche, who was on the daytime soap opera Another World from 1987 to 1991, played Deputy Superintendent Katherine Brennan in 11 episodes in Seasons 6 and 7 on Chicago P.D. Soffer, who has played Jay Halstead in every episode since the premier of the show in 2014, spent 6 years as Will Munson on the daytime soap opera As the World Turns.
