A free feature screening and a very low cost screenwriters seminar kick off November’s events

AND HERE’S ANOTHER. For a mere $15 aspiring screenwriters can learn about the craft, art and business of screenwriting from Paul Peditto, one of Chicago’s best teachers. He’s also a Jeff Award-winning playwright and filmmaker.

The Chicago Filipino American Film Festival and “7? Cinema at the Chopin Theatre” host the workshop as part of the festival Nov. 10 at the Chopin Theatre.

HOME BOY VINCE VAUGHAN, the star of the Christmas entry, “Fred Claus,” filmed here late last year, appears at the Monday, Nov. 5 premiere at the AMC River East 21 theatre.

He will be accompanied by David Dobkin who directed him in “Wedding Crashers.” The red carpet entrance is scheduled for around 5:15 p.m.

“Fred Claus” opens nationally Nov. 9 and Vaughn, who owns a Palmolive Building condo, will be on a whirlwind national tour opening the picture.
