One of three PSA’s selected in support of abolishing California’s Prop 8 was produced by Foundation Content and is posted for voting until March 12 at hrcladinner.com/ehero/index.php.
Their entry, “Every Heart Matters,” was selected by the E-Hero Awards as one of the three top finalists that will screen at the prestigious 2010 Human Rights Campaign Gala in L.A. March 13.
Marriage equality advocate Sen. Barbara Boxer will be the Gala’s featured speaker; actress Portia de Rossi will receive the HRC Visibility Award and comedian Kathy Griffin the Ally for Equality Award. The gala will be held at the Hyatt Century Plaza in Century City.
Foundation was contact by Hollywood-headquartered F.A.I.R. (Freedom, Action, Inclusion, Rights), a group that was formed to fight for marriage equality in California, notes Foundation creative director Samantha Hart, who spearheaded their video entry.
“One of F.A.I.R.’s founders, Dayna Frank, contacted our L.A. producer, Stacy Paris, and asked for our help in creating a PSA play off of Shepard Fairey’s ?Love Unites’ poster. We agreed,” she says.
Foundation’s Chicago directorial team of Ben Chappell and Aaron Brown, a.k.a. Focus Creeps, were dispatched to San Francisco to capture candid moments of gay and lesbian families and couples in their homes and playing with their children.
Tom Pastorelle, who will represent Foundation at the Gala, cut the footage together with graphic images and additional photography shot on the Foundation stage. Graphics were provided by L.A. design Meghan Toohey. Foundation Content is located at 200 E. Ohio St.; phone 312/951-8734. See
