Foundation Content’s one-stop shop concept continues to grow with new staff additions

James Lipetzky and Samantha Hart’s four-year old Foundation can claim being the first Chicago post house to transform itself into a full-service production company long before the current trend of adding production service began.

In early 2006, Foundation Content was taking shape “as a unique, multi-faceted creative entity that was not based on just one discipline,” said co-president/CD Hart.

Hart said she had harbored “the concept of diversifying to change with the times since I joined Foundation a few years earlier from Hollywood,” where she had had a successful career in marketing and development for some of Movieland’s biggest companies.

One of the features that helped accelerate Foundation Content’s growth was the addition in July, 2007 of an 18×24-ft. stage, with cyc and green screen, to its two-floor, 11,350-sq. ft. facility.

The stage has been constantly in use, most recently for the production of a 5-minute piece with Leo Burnett CEO Tom Bernardin that will be used for the agency’s internal 73rd birthday celebration Aug. 5. Erik Crary was line producer.

He is one of three new additions to the staff, which now numbers 30. That’s an impressive growth since Lipetzky started the post boutique with three employees when he left Red Car after many years.
