First Look: Chicago Med Season 10 premiere photos

Chicago Med Season 10 premiere kicks off with a gripping, high-stakes situation as a capsized commuter ship sends waves of injured passengers to the ER.

Adding to the chaos, a nearby hospital, suffering from severe underfunding, is forced to close its doors, further overwhelming the already strained ER. As seen in our promotional photos for the September 25 episode, the emergency department is in utter disarray, with medical staff racing against time to save lives amidst the chaos.

At the heart of the action is new doc Caitlin Lenox (Sarah Ramos), alongside Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson), both of whom step up in this dire situation. You know the situation has spiraled into an emergency of epic proportions—when Sharon Goodwin, the hospital’s head administrator, is needed to help save patients directly. This scene sets the tone for what’s sure to be an intense, drama-packed season ahead, with the ER team pushed to their limits.

All hands were on deck for the Chicago Med Season 10 premiere.

Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) remains the Sherlock Holmes of psychiatry, adept as lending his keen insights into the most challenging of cases. His personal life, on the other hand, is in a bit of disarray. Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell) is a talented and compassionate ER physician whose bumpy childhood has left him with a frustrated anger that at times threatens to bubble up.

Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson), the venerable head of the city’s largest hospital, is under intense fiscal scrutiny to preserve the bottom line while continuing to ensure that all patients receive nothing short of quality care and compassion. Her task is made even more difficult with the closing of a nearby hospital, and her personal life is complicated with several challenges she finds herself facing.

Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber) is the talented but feisty chief who is now asked to share the helm of the emergency department with Dr. Caitlyn Lenox (Sarah Ramos). Brought in to increase efficiency, her fierce and unapologetic demeanor may provide some serious challenges to the team. Possessing a military background like Archer, she expects nothing short of excellence from the staff.

Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett), the charge nurse and eyes, ears and brain of the ER, is skilled, confident and eager to take on any responsibilities thrown her way. Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram), is an experienced attending who is the heart and soul of the center’s emergency OB/GYN service. She manages her complicated past and navigates around her own relationships within the hospital. Rounding out the group is Dr. John Frost (Darren Barnet), a new resident who is happy to use his charms to get what he needs for his patients.

Together they confront Chicago’s most critical medical cases and challenging ethical dilemmas with courage, compassion and state-of-the-art treatment. Inspired by ripped-from-the-headlines cases, Chicago Med weaves cutting-edge medicine with the personal drama that comes with working in such a high-intensity environment. Throughout the season, familiar faces from Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D will intertwine with Chicago’s finest medical heroes.
