First indie film of 2008: Catherine Rubey’s “Holiday Baggage” to shoot later this month

Casting is being is finalized for Catherine Rubey’s debut indie feature, “Holiday Baggage,” scheduled to shoot in Chicago suburbs for 16 days starting at the end of January.

Written by Rubey, the dramedy/romance “Holiday Baggage” stars Corbin Bernsen (“Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”) and Chicago native Chelcie Ross (“Waking up in Reno”).

The story is about Sarah (actress to be announced) who invites her estranged husband, Pete (Bernsen), an airlines pilot to spend the holidays at home, providing he reconciles with their children before finalizing their divorce.

Bernsen rejoins his “Major League” co-star Ross, a supporting lead in “Holiday Baggage,” who has advised Rubey on the script and provided “moral support” during its three years in development.
