Due to the COVID19 pandemic, FILM 765 announced they were forced to delay the production of THE FILM RACE – Chicago Edition, which was scheduled to run September 2020. This was to be their second installment in the series which began with the successful premier of the INDIANA FILM RACE-2018.

“As we remain fluid and doing our best to adjust to the ever changing times, we are now more determined than ever to continue to provide a platform for filmmakers of all levels of experience to celebrate the many untold stories as we navigate through the ‘new normal’ of filmmaking”, comments Joe Buser, Founder/CEO of FILM 765.

“THE FILM RACE – Home Edition is our remix version that will allow Chicago filmmakers the opportunity to tell their stories amid the COVID19 pandemic. If your team chooses to compete, you accept the challenge of making a ‘slice of history’ short film that can be delivered in the format of narrative or documentary.”

Beginning with the production start, all health and safety regulations that are mandated by the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago, must be adhered to when shooting films. As Chicago remains on ‘shelter in place’ status, production must take place in and around the team’s residence with only people who are members of their immediate contact group. They may, however, bring more artists or actors into their film group via video conferencing, remote filming, green screen or any other form of virtual production. If restrictions lift, competitors are allowed to make adjustments.

FILM 765 warmly encourages submissions from diverse backgrounds and will not discriminate against gender, race, religious beliefs or sexual orientation.

“Among other groups, artists are a vulnerable population whose creativity will not be stifled. It is our goal to provide you with an opportunity to connect with other creatives and unleash your voice with truth and authenticity as we all adjust to filmmaking in these challenging times and how we can find value in adversity”, Buser continued.
