FCB welcomes back VP/CD team after nine years at DDB

FCB CHICAGO continues to increase its creative assets with the VP/creative director team of copywriter Kathleen Waille and art director Marisa Groenweghe rejoining the agency from nine years at DDB Chicago.

Both had started their careers in 1997 with Foote, Cone & Belding. Five years later, they took off for a 10-month stint in the agency’s Sydney, Australia office.

Waille and Groenweghe have worked on every conceivable brand at FCB and DDB, including McDonald’s Budweiser, Bud Light, Glade, Samsung, State Farm, Blue Cross Blue Shield, to name a few.

Along the way the partners won a stack of awards, the most recent being 2015 Silver Cannes Lion for Film and 2015 London International Award; 2014 and 2015 Communication Arts awards, 2014 Bronze Cannes Lion, Addys, Effies, Best Ads on TV, Creativity, Adweek, AdAge, ad infinitum.

MARK USA WONE FIREHOUSE SUBS, a fast-casual chain based in Jacksonville, Fla. with 940 restaurants in 43 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, and plans to double the number in five years. Marc USA will run the $30 millino account from its Chicago office, with help from its Boston and Philadelphia offices. The new campaign is expected to break in late February.  

DENTSU DIVISION MCGARRYBOWEN has assembled a US leadership team together for the first time. The three-executive US team includes Ned Crowley, US chief creative officer who is credited with growing the Chicago office from a two-person shop into a 230-plus operation.

Simon Pearce was appointed US CEO; he joined McGarryBowen’s New York office last March and Jennifer Zimmerman was tapped as US chief strategic officer. 

They will oversee the agency’s Chicago, New York, San Francisco and San Antonio offices.
