FCB takes home 7 Gold Pencils at 2020 One Show

Anti-gun violence campaigns scored big this year at The One Show 2020  as winners were revealed today.  “Generation Lockdown” by McCann New York for March For Our Lives; “The Gun Violence History Book” by FCB Chicago, Lord + Thomas and The Mill for Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence; and “Back To School Essentials” by BBDO New York for Sandy Hook Promise all won multiple Gold Pencils at The One Show 2020

FCB was awarded seven Gold Pencils, all on behalf of Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence.  Four of the Golds were with Lord + Thomas and The Mill, both Chicago, for “The Gun Violence History Book”, and three were with Lord + Thomas and FCBX Chicago for “The Most Dangerous Street.”

The articles, facts, and data within The Gun Violence History Book were intended to be a tool to teach current and future voters how we can stop repeating history. Additionally, the book formed part of a learning plan for teachers and schools in Chicago-land.

In total, 171 Gold Pencils, 169 Silver Pencils, and 213 Bronze Pencils were awarded, all from nearly 20,000 submissions from over 70 different countries.
