busy Chicago shop
(Chicago — 24 October 2018) Explore Media, a commercial production company with headquarters in downtown Chicago, has announced the addition of Directors Dinh Thai and Christian Clark to its expanding roster.
“We’re very excited to join forces with Dinh and Christian,” says Explore Media Executive Producer Seth Deahl. “Dinh recently won a best director award for HBO so his work is very timely, bright, syncopated and fresh … Christian’s work is so interesting because he has serious comedic chops for brands like Chevy and Downey, but then you look at his work for the Marriott family of hotels and it’s beautiful, elegant and includes elements of GFX.”
Dinh Thai is a Los Angeles-based Director who brings a youthful, multi-cultural viewpoint to his creative, energetic productions. Growing up in Vietnam, France and suburban L.A., he offers a diverse cultural background that has richly informed his approach and aesthetic.
Thai’s commercial clients include Adidas, T-Mobile, and Toyota. His work blends visual style with realism, focusing on dialogue, comedy, celebrities, and storytelling — all with a nod to strong musical soundtracks.
According to Deahl, he also “has an urban flair mixed with West Coast cultural progressiveness, and really excels at music-driven pieces, dialogue and performance to camera.”

In 2017, Thai released his first narrative short film, Monday, a fictional piece with autobiographical elements, which he wrote and directed.
Monday has garnered over 40 festival awards, including multiple wins for “Best Director,” and placed first in HBO’s inaugural Asian Pacific American Visionaries Competition. The film is now streaming on Cinemax.
“Explore Media is a diverse group of artists, and it’s important for me to work with like-minded people,” says Thai. “Clients are looking for multi-niched directors for their deliverables.”

Christian Clark, also based in Los Angeles, directs works that are cinematic in structure and multi-faceted in styles, with the rare ability to cross effortlessly from humorous into simple, good storytelling.
His short film for Unilever’s Cornetto Cupidity series, Travellers, won a Silver Lion in Branded Content at Cannes, where Christian was also shortlisted for the Shots/CFP-E Young Director Award. His commercial clients include Chevy, Downey, Nestea, Klondike, Marriott and Bridgestone Tires.
A Yale graduate, Christian honed his unique directing style studying at the Upright Citizens Brigade and The Book Shop – School for Ads.
“As evidenced by his young director awards, Christian is someone to keep an eye on,” says Deahl. “We’re proud to represent and creatively collaborate with him.”

“We’re always on the lookout for fresh, new unique voices and diverse approaches,” explains Founder Jeremy Pinckert, an award-winning director in his own right. “Thai and Christian are a perfect fit. We’ve already received great responses to their work and our sales reps are thrilled to be sending their reels out for potential projects!”
Dinh and Christian will be represented by Explore Media’s sales representatives Janice Wagdy in the Midwest (312-550-2554), Dee Rymer on the West Coast + Texas (310-795-8173), and Jim Miller in the Southeast (301-340-1917).
