Fusion92, a Chicago-based marketing innovation company, announced that Emily Szymczak has been named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will lead the firm’s financial strategy and management.
She will report to Fusion92 CEO & Founder Matt Murphy and work alongside President Doug Dome.
Szymczak has over 20 years of experience serving in finance roles, gaining expertise in building organizations, providing strategic financial guidance, and managing through mergers & acquisitions. She has a vast knowledge of a wide array of systems and will be a key leader in further expanding and implementing Fusion92’s more comprehensive approach to financial management as the firm experiences continued growth.
Szymczak spent the last three years as the Global Chief Financial Officer for rEvolution Marketing, a Chicago-based fully integrated sports marketing agency. Previously, she held leadership roles for several top agencies, including the Engine Group, The Marketing Store, and Leo Burnett. In addition to working in the marketing and media industries, she has held financial roles in the professional services industry.

“Creating and managing a financial model that effectively serves the growth and needs of Fusion92 is a key initiative, and we are excited to have Emily’s expertise as part of our team,” said Murphy. “Her knowledge of multiple systems, experience in building organizations, and leading through mergers & acquisition will be vital to supporting our strategic growth plans.”
Szymczak holds both a BBA in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting from the University of Michigan where she was also a collegiate athlete as a member of the synchronized swimming team.

Szymczak assumes the CFO position that was held by Mike Stankoven who will continue to serve in an advisory role for Fusion92. He has over 25 years of financial management and operations experience, including the past three plus years at Fusion92. Stankoven was vital in establishing the firm’s financial system and managed through company acquisitions and the strategic investment by Serata Capital Partners (SCP).
