O’Connor Casting added full-time session director Lynn Ann Bernatowicz, a former play director for Goodman, Shattered Globe, Circle and University of Pittsburgh theatres. And Sarah Reule rejoined the staff as a session director and Anthony Berg was named office manager. David O’Connor reports working on 150-plus productions commercial, print and corporate so far this year. His company recently cast for director Patrick Read’s independent film “5-25-77.”

Local DGA members say they were sorry to see popular field rep Lisa Layer move to L.A. but they wish her all the best in her job field repping for the national DGA office.

Radio and TV One CEO/founder Cathy Hughes hosts a gala dinner for media executives Oct. 21, the night before TheHistorymakers’ “Evening with Russell Simmons,” hosted by Hughes. The show will air early next year on PBS.

Scenes for “Derailed,” the Clive Owen-Jennifer Aniston starrer, will be filmed in Joliet prison when the crew comes to town for three weeks in November.

Director Jeff Marsten’s indie film, “Molly’s Gift,” shot for two days in Park Forest and will shoot Chicago scenes in early November. Actors are Alettie Smith-Upton in the lead role of Molly; Kim Beavers is Lisa, her mother, Helen Young is a nurse and Peter Calandra plays a priest. The sole extra is Nicholas Santucci. Executive producer is Gary Westberg, and DP is Joe Farris of Visions of Light.

Linda Jack talent agent Stacy Shafer left the business to become associate development director for the Rush Neurological Behavior Center.

Scott Murphy, formerly the Apple Computer store’s theatre and special events coordinator at its Michigan Ave. store, joined The Tech Therapist, certified Apple trainers. The late Jay Gondelman was one of the great pioneers of Web marketing in the early ?90s so it is fitting an award has been named in his honor. The Jay Gondelman Award for innovative achievement in electronic direct marketing will be one of three awards presented during the Chicago DM Days & Expo April 7 at Navy Pier. Deadline for entries is Nov. 15.
