Doc about Table 52’s celebrity chef Art Smith

CHARISE STUDEVILLE of Lotus Girl Films is in production on a documentary about Common Threads, the organization started by celebrity chef Art Smith of Table 52.

The purpose is to teach healthy and culturally authentic cooking to low-income kids, says Studeville, whose award-winning narrative film “The Hands” screened at the Monaco International Film Festival Dec. 3-6.

“The project will focus on the dual cause of dispelling fear and bias towards other cultures through education and exposure, and trying to undo some of the damage caused by the prevalence of food deserts and the trend of families not cooking together,” she says.

“We will be including moving interviews with some families who have been touched by the program, and also Food Network faves Chef Art Smith and Chef Jamie Oliver, along with experts in the field of food deserts and healthcare.”
