Diversified enters AV field here with ex-Roscor pros

VP Craig Taylor heads Diversified’s local branch

With the hiring of six former key Roscor System Integration  experts, Diversified Systems of New Jersey, with branches throughout the country, has made its first foray into the Midwest and is gearing up to compete as a major player here in AV, IT, broadcast engineering and system integration.

Diversified’s new local branch is led by VP Craig Taylor, who had spent 22 years with Sony as a VP/general manager/business professional group in Chicago, New York and New Jersey.  He was recruited by Diversified to open a branch in the Chicago area a year ago January.

Diversified had done some $10 million per year of broadcast and educational facility business in the region over the past five years “and that made sense for us to open a facility to accommodate our clients here directly,” Taylor says.

“Yes, we will have competition but that won’t stop us from actively pursuing new business,” he adds, when the branch moves into its own permanent space at the end of June, located in the same general west suburban area.

Taylor and staff are currently working out of a Schaumburg office building at 10 Martindale Road.

Strictly an engineering design and integration organization, Diversified is not a big box reseller, but has agreements with a wide array of top equipment manufacturers, such as Sony, Harris broadcast and IT products, Panasonic, Miranda technologies, Ross Systems, Evertz and Crestron broadcast infrastructures among them, notes Taylor.

New goals will be expansion into broadcast installations of corporate conference rooms and teleconferencing and providing the full media creation spectrum for educational institutions.

At present, Diversified employs eight: the former Roscor contingent of senior project managers, engineers including David Wolthusen, Kurt Miller and Kevin Johnson, in addition to an installation supervisor and office operations.

Diversfied has four divisions

Privately-owned Diversified Systems was founded in 1993 by Fred D’alessandro as a broadcast integration company not unlike now-defunct Roscor Corp.

The company is divided into four separate companies:  Diversified Media Group, a digital signage and content management company; DiamondLyte, for the static LED light Panels signage space; Skyweb, direct TV integration, for large scale operations, such as hotels and stadiums and IPTV, providing digital delivery of a variety of programs.

The company has large sales and system integration facilities in Santa Clara, Calif., servicing the Western United States, Dulles, Virginia, and HQ in Kenilworth, N.J. Also an engineering office in Seattle and sales offices in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas.
