Disney+ and Hulu are officially bringing Lollapalooza to audiences worldwide this summer, expanding the Chicago music festival into a global livestream event for the first time.

The streaming platforms announced they will simulcast performances, behind-the-scenes content, artist interviews, and festival highlights live from Grant Park during Lollapalooza’s July 30 through Aug. 2 run.

And honestly, this year’s lineup feels engineered for internet chaos and streaming clips.

Leading the 2026 festival are Charli XCX, Lorde, Tate McRae, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Olivia Dean, giving the festival one of its most genre-spanning headline mixes in recent years.

The move marks a major expansion of Hulu’s long-running relationship with Lollapalooza and Live Nation, while also pushing Disney+ further into live cultural programming beyond sports and awards shows.

“Music festivals are among the most electric, can’t-miss moments in culture,” said Lauren Tempest, Head of Content Planning & Partnerships for Disney’s direct-to-consumer division. “Now Disney+ and Hulu subscribers around the world can experience the excitement.”

The livestreams will also feature the return of the “Live Set” studio experience, an on-site content hub featuring artist interviews and backstage festival coverage throughout the weekend.

For Chicago, it’s another reminder of how culturally massive Lollapalooza has become.

What started as an alt-rock touring festival now operates as:

  • a global streaming event
  • a social media content machine
  • a tourism magnet
  • a fashion showcase
  • and one of the city’s biggest annual entertainment exports

The 2026 edition also continues Lolla’s tradition of blending hometown legacy acts with rising global stars.

The inclusion of Chicago icons The Smashing Pumpkins alongside Charli XCX’s hyperpop spectacle, Tate McRae’s arena-ready pop ascent, and Olivia Dean’s breakout momentum gives this year’s festival a lineup that feels simultaneously nostalgic and extremely online.

Additional livestream details and performance schedules are expected closer to the festival.
