Chicago doc ‘Diary of a Bodybuilder’ screens at festivals

Chicago Bodybuilding Champion, Joseph Anthony Quinn

Documenting the true-life story of former Chicago Bodybuilding Champion Joseph Anthony Quinn, Diary of a Bodybuilder has been selected to screen July 26th, 2021 in Las Vegas at both the Action on Film and Hollywood Dreams Film Festivals.

Narrated by Quinn himself, the film shares the highs and lows of his cautionary and inspirational journey from when he started out in 1975 and then away from steroid use to clean training through his last competition in 2016 at the age of sixty.

“In 1967 I saw a picture, in a muscle magazine, of Sergio Oliva and Harold Poole locked in a pose down for Mr. Olympia,” Quinn says. “That was the beginning of my journey. Diary of a Bodybuilder takes all of us from that point to 2015 and what may, in fact, be my final contest. There are many twists and turns, thrills and spills and recoveries, too. It’s entertaining, enlightening, educational and real.”
