Detroit’s Hudson edit now collaborates with The Mill

The Mill is expanding in the Midwest with a collaboration with Detroit’s full-service Hudson Edit, allowing their clients to share connected projects for color, visual effects and other services.

“Our involvement,” says Jared Yeater, The Mill’s Chicago managing director, “offers Hudson Edit’s Detroit clients access to The Mill color, visual effects, animation and design services, available across its Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and London studios.”

“Having a partner like The Mill, with all its services and great artists, is awesome for us,” says executive producer Kristin Redman, who helms Hudson Edit’s staff of 17 that occupies a 6,400-sq. ft. post studio in downtown Detroit’s Wright Kay Building on Woodward Ave.

Among the post house clients are Chevolet / Commonweath, Ford / Global Team Blue, Lincoln.

Accord / Hudson Rouge and Quicken Loans/direct, notes Redman, the former head of production at Leo Burnett, Detroit.

Hudson Edit, an AICE company, is a sister company of 25-year old commercial and content production company Avalon Films, based in Royal Oak. Both companies are female-owned by Audrey Pask whose partner is director Larry August (a former STORY director).

The Mill has a long standing in Detroit’s creative community as a D Show sponsor. Earlier this year it introduced a new automotive production service The Mill BLACKBIRD®, the first fully adjustable car rig for creating photo-real CG cars, winning a Gold Lion for Innovation at 2016 Cannes advertising festival.
