There’s a new chief at the firehouse.
Dermot Mulroney is set to join Chicago Fire Season 13 as Chief Dom Pascal, a series-regular role.
Mulroney’s extensive TV credits include Hanna, Shameless, Secret Invasion, Station 19, Crisis, Enlightened, and USA Network’s The Purge. He is best known for his film roles in romcoms such as My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Family Stone, The Wedding Date, and more recently, Anyone But You. He also co-stars in the upcoming Starz drama series The Hunting Wives.
Chief Pascal is coming to Chicago from Miami, where he has served as a chief for some time. Interestingly, he began his career with the Chicago Fire Department (CFD). His leadership style will contrast with that of the beloved Chief Wallace Boden.
Pascal will take over Firehouse 51’s top position from Boden, portrayed by Eamonn Walker, who exited the NBC drama as a series regular in the Season 12 finale. In that episode, Boden was promoted to CFD’s Deputy Commissioner and suggested Herrmann (David Eigenberg) as his replacement at 51.

However, Herrmann needs to be promoted to captain and pass the Battalion chief test first, making the introduction of a new chief a logical move for the interim.
The firefighter drama also bid farewell to two other series regulars last season: Kara Killmer’s paramedic Sylvie Brett, who left after marrying Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) in Episode 6, and Alberto Rosende, whose firefighter character Blake Gallo moved closer to family in the Season 12 premiere.
Chicago Fire Season 13 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 8c on NBC and next day streaming on Peacock.
