The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) today announced the selection of leaders from across the nation who will serve as Co-Chairs for the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

These Co-Chairs reflect the diversity, experience, and dedication that define the Democratic Party. Their leadership will be instrumental in shaping the party’s message as it looks ahead to the future under the Harris-Walz ticket. They are:

  • Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan (MN)
  • The Honorable Mitch Landrieu (LA)
  • Senator Cory Booker (NJ)
  • Representative Veronica Escobar (TX)

“I’m proud and honored to gavel in the Democratic National Convention with our four incredible Co-Chairs,” said Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison. “Their dedication to service, boundless optimism, and passion for progress is emblematic of our party’s values and our message to the American people. As we celebrate President Biden’s accomplishments and uplift Vice President Harris and Governor Walz, I’m thrilled for the nation to see our vision for the future and meet the incredible leaders who will guide the way.”

Convention Chair Minyon Moore echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the significance of the event: “Our convention will honor President Biden’s leadership for the American people, celebrate our next President and Vice President of the United States: Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz, and uplift the deep bench of future leaders who will carry our party and country forward.”

Meet the Co-Chairs:

Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan

Elected in 2019 as Minnesota’s Lieutenant Governor alongside Governor Tim Walz, Flanagan is the first woman of color to hold the position in Minnesota and the highest-ranking Native American woman in elected office in the U.S. She also serves as chair of the Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association.

The Honorable Mitch Landrieu

Former Mayor of New Orleans and Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana, Landrieu served as Senior Advisor to President Biden, overseeing the implementation of the Infrastructure and Jobs Act. He now co-chairs the Harris-Walz campaign.

Senator Cory Booker

A U.S. Senator from New Jersey, Booker is a long-time advocate for fairness and justice, with a focus on equality and economic opportunity. Before his Senate career, Booker served as Mayor of Newark, NJ.

Representative Veronica Escobar

Serving Texas’s 116th congressional district, Escobar is a co-chair of the Harris-Walz campaign. She is a leading voice in the House Democratic Caucus and has a strong commitment to fighting for underserved communities.
