
Guillermo Diaz, Sofia Black-D’Elia, and Chris Elliott are bringing their talents to Hulu’s upcoming crime dramedy Deli Boys as guest stars, TheWrap revealed.
Filmed in Chicago from January to April 2024, the show follows two spoiled Pakistani American brothers whose lives are upended after the unexpected death of their father reveals his secret criminal enterprise. As they grapple with this revelation, they attempt to navigate and take over his underworld operations. The series features a talented cast, including Asif Ali as Mir Dar, Saagar Shaikh as Raj Dar, Poorna Jagannathan as Lucky, Alfie Fuller as Prairie, and Brian George as Ahmad.
Diaz, known for his roles in Scandal and Half Baked, will guest star as Chacho, a legendary assassin working for the Peruvian Cartel. Meanwhile, comedy veteran Chris Elliott (Schitt’s Creek, Groundhog Day) takes on the role of Sergeant Testicola, a tough, no-nonsense Philly cop. Sofia Black-D’Elia (Single Drunk Female, The Night Of) joins as Gigi Lozano, the fiery daughter of mob boss Chickie Lozano (Kevin Corrigan).
Diaz, Black-D’Elia, and Elliott join a stacked ensemble cast, including Poorna Jagannathan (Never Have I Ever), Alfie Fuller (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), and Brian George (The Big Bang Theory), alongside series leads Ali and Shaikh. Watch the trailer below:
Although Deli Boys is set in Philadelphia, the production filmed in various Chicago locations to represent the setting. Filming locations included Essence of India in Lincoln Square, Devon Avenue in Rogers Park, and a private residence in Oak Park. Additionally, scenes were shot at 2330 W Wilson Avenue and in the McKinley Park neighborhood.
Abdullah Saeed created Deli Boys, with Jenni Konner and Nora Silver developing the 10-episode half-hour series under Jenni Konner Productions. Michelle Nader serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Saeed, Konner, and Silver. Deli Boys is produced by 20th Television.
Deli Boys premieres March 6 on Hulu.
