DDB imports London creatives to local office

DDB chief creative officer Ewan Paterson reached out to his native London for his first creative hires since joining DDB Chicago from serving as ECD and managing partner at CHI & Partners, London.

Digital/integrated writer Alistair Robertson and art director Alex Braxton are the newcomers from AMV BBDO, London, which they helped diversify from a TV-centric agency to one with digital and integrated chops.

“I called Al and Al the minute I knew I was joining DDB Chicago,” said Paterson, called one of the world’s most awarded copywriters and creative, who joined the agency on June 21.

Earlier, he had spent a decade at DDB London as a joint executive creative director and worked on accounts Volkswagen, American Airlines and Sony.

“In my view, they epitomize the future of creative solutions — not digital alone but multimedia ideas that combine the full potential of digital with world-class TV and print to create something that’s much bigger than the sum of its parts,” he said.

Robertson and Braxton are known for their Walkers Crisps “Do us a Flavor” campaign, one of the industry’s model integrated campaigns sparking consumer involvement and advancing the brand in the process.

They are also known for their work for major clients such as Vodafone, Doritos, Unilever Lynx and Pepsi.
