Daufenbach hires DeJulius and three new techs

Joe DeJulius

Joe DeJulius has joined Daufenbach Camera as director of operations.

With more than a decade of industry experience, his arrival will enhance the remarkably well-rounded services of the Chicago-based rental house, which is the largest locally founded motion picture camera equipment rental company in the city.

DeJulius will handle Daufenbach’s rental operations while streamlining its customer support for professional productions. According to founder Lawrence Daufenbach, he is a natural complement to the company’s existing crew.

“We are excited to add Joe to the family and help continue to grow Chicago’s home-grown rental house,” he says. “He fits right at home here.”

In his previous position as rental manager at Zacuto, DeJulius not only became familiar with Daufenbach’s quality of service, but also developed a fondness for the people who helped make it one of the most popular choices for Chicago indie film productions.

“I have known Lawrence, Michael (Acuna), and Stephen (Wheeler) for several years,” he explains. “Now that we all work at the same place, at the same time, and on the same gigs, it’s almost a dream come true.”

“Rock on,” he adds.

Additionally, Daufenbach announced the addition of three new service technicians this week.

The move underscores an impressive year of growth for the full service camera rental house, which specializes in digital cinema and is widely considered as a true production partner in the motion picture industry.
