Lurie Children’s
Hospital

Using only eight words in 45 seconds, Daily Planet celebrates the joy of community in a new spot for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital titled, Team Jasmin.

Choreographing a family car trip with a contagiously upbeat soundtrack, the spot follows a young girl’s journey through neighborhoods, parks, and gas stations en route to the world-renowned healthcare facility located in Streeterville.

Glimpses of her arrival and treatment reinforce the spot’s warm and healthy message: “A world-class team for Chicago, for every child.”

Phenomenal things
To keep the optimism running on high, Director Michael Gabriele filmed a series of faces and places throughout Chicago while creating Team Jasmin.

“It was shot over only two days,” says Daily Planet President, Scott Marvel. “Michael covered a lot of ground in such a short time. It was great.”

According to Producer Sara Wolfson, the effort provided a multitude of rewards.

“I absolutely love working with Lurie Children’s hospital because, not only is the work challenging and enjoyable, but it also allows me to feel good about myself knowing that, in some small way, I am helping them do the work that they do,” she explains. “They really do phenomenal things, and when you’re there, you can see how passionate they are about helping children.”

“There is no doubt that the mood of the spot is jubilant,” Marvel adds. “But it has also moved a lot of people to tears.”

Community ties
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital is a pediatric specialty medical facility with a proven knack for reaching out to the Chicago community and a long history in the city.

Founded in 1882 as the four-bed Maurice Porter Memorial Hospital at the corner of Halsted and Belden in Chicago, it became Children’s Memorial Hospital and moved to Fullerton and Lincoln in 1904. The institution expanded to include a main hospital in the 1960s, and moved to its current location as Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, located on Northwestern University’s Streeterville campus, in 2012.

Today, Lurie Children’s is affiliated with Northwestern Memorial Hospital and staffs 4,000 employees, including 1,200 physicians.

Team Jasmin will air online and on TV stations in Chicagoland this fall.
