Up close gallery-style Motion Graphics Festival

Bridges Media hosts the first night of the Jan. 18-21 Motion Graphics Festival, and promises a product announcement that will “change the meaning of postproduction productivity.”

Works of excellence will be featured in the third annual event, to be held at six venues from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Here’s the program lineup:

Jan. 18?At North Michigan Apple Store, an Evening with Adobe, 1-6 p.m.; Bridges screening, 6-10 p.m., and a raffle of Adobe software worth $1,700.

Jan. 19?At the Apple Store, HD for Indies, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; 3D and Video Programming, 1-4 p.m.; Afterwork Thursday: Shake and Xsan, a presentation of Apple’s new fiber optic file management system, 4-6 p.m. At Optimus, known for its memorable industry events, showcases graphics artistry, 6-10 p.m.

Jan. 20?At the Art Institute, Final Cut Pro Masters Class in “broadcast readiness,” with Matt Geller, Chicago’s premiere Apple pro-video integrator. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Screenings at the NBC Tower, at Daily Planet and S2, 6-10 p.m.

Jan. 21?School of the Art Institute, After Effects Studio Techniques with Richard Harrington, author of 25 books on motion graphics 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

An international audience will be able to in a four-hour broadcast and live chat during CMGF’s first online event, 6-10 p.m.
