This week, Cinespace Chicago Film Studios surprised 200 healthcare workers and caregivers at Mount Sinai Hospital with a warm dinner from Inspired Catering & Events of the Stefani Restaurant Group. The nutritious meals were a gesture of gratitude from the Film Studio’s executives for all of the selfless work the teams at Sinai Health Systems have dedicated to the health of the North Lawndale community during the COVID-19 outbreak.
“As good neighbors, we need to show gratitude to one another, especially in difficult times. If you want people to know that you care, give them a good nutritious meal,” said Alex Pissios, CEO and President of Cinespace Chicago Film Studios and Sinai Health System Board of Directors Member. “The healthcare workers and employees of Mount Sinai hospital are our local heroes. They are putting themselves on the line and doing everything they can to treat patients who are suffering, and that can take a toll on you. We really just wanted to say, Thank you!”
The partnership between Cinespace Chicago and Sinai Health System extends beyond neighboring facilities. In 2019, Cinespace pledged more than $2.3 million to Sinai Health System. The pledge, which will be completed in 2022, includes an in-kind contribution to Sinai Health System and monetary support. The organizations are also working together as development partners on the highly anticipated Ogden Commons mixed-use development along with the Habitat Company and the Chicago Housing Authority.
“We are so grateful to Cinespace and to Alex for their generosity. The warm meals made such a big difference for our caregivers. It was wonderful to see so many appreciative faces during our evening shift,” said Karen Teitelbaum, President, and CEO of Sinai Health System.
