So filmmaker Ilko Davidoff and musician Josh Chicoine decided to start a festival centering around the combination of the two forms of artistry.
Six years later, CIMMfest, Chicago International Movies and Music Festival, has become a four-day phenomenon of sights and sounds in venues along Milwaukee Avenue from Wicker Park to Logan Square.
The 2014 fest offers a combined total of 165 events — shows, screenings and conferences – a fast-growing event to make CIMMfest the rival to SXSW in the Midwest. Here’s the schedule of events for the weekend.
