Chicago’s Ron Dean stars in CMPS indie thriller

ROCKY ALCARESE of Handheld Films directs 26 days of production in mid-March in Chicago and Will County on the under-$100,000 hitmen-go-after-one-of-their-own thriller “The Business of Death.”

Alcarese, the writer, produces with Tony DeGuide of Chicago Motion Picture Studios; executive producer is Nick Kanari, also of CMPS.

It stars Ron Dean (“The Dark Knight”), Joe Estevez (“The Rockville Slayer”), Robert Z’Dar (“Maniac Cop”) and Playboy model Natalia Sokolova.

Alcarese, who directed the lesbian vampire flick, “Lost Girls,” produces with Tony DeGuide of Chicago Motion Picture Studios; executive producer is Nick Kanari, also of CMPS.

Alcarese plans to shop “The Business of Death” at the Cannes Market in May, where he’s seeking financing for a couple of bigger-budget pictures. “We have great interest from the Asian market,” Alcarese said. See
